I believe it was for iron deficiency or that’s what my nan use to tell me
I doubt there is that much in it but could be wrong

Unbelievably Guinness was still being used for people with iron deficiencies up to 2010!! In reality I think it contains around 0.3mg of iron per pint so you'd have to drink around 60 pints to get ya daily amount

I like it after race n Monday n weds but very little to 20 birds I'm not one who fills pot or gives a teaspoon each fuk that .

Ah great you got onto the subject of grit - can anyone tell me why after giving grit my birds droppings get quite wet.
To standard pigeon grit, I add about 20% de patagoons and some cuttle bone along with some canary egg food
The birds always have loose droppings for a couple of days after.
I give it once a week and they scoff the de patagoons, and egg food and I leave the basic grit in the trough for the next couple of days - is that too much.....?

Yes, I don’t like the salty ones or the ones that have aniseed on them. I often also taste the water if I put something different in it, I can confirm Verkon S tastes a little soapy, but worst of all is Ronidazole that tastes vilebut on a positive at least I know I’ve not got canker

Put a tiny b8t on a dirty paving slab n see what happens , there better that patio cleaner out builders yard.lol
