Crazy club racing with the Combine.

Talk about anything racing pigeon related here aslong as there isnt a section for it.

Not sure what to make of this this morning, we had a club meeting just to discuss & vote on the race program for 2026.
So the old birds are going down the leg into Cornwall, the ybs have 2 options 1 to do the S/West route.
2nd option East to West.
So it's emerged that 2 club want to go the S/ West route for both ob & yb, if this gets over turned by the majority of club's they have said they will resign & go with another Fed on the S/West route , this is all before any clubs have decided.
How crazy is this, the Combine have just bought a newer lorry to take up to 1500 pigeons at a cost of £8000.
Will have to wait & see what develops with the different clubs voting, not sure if they will actually resign or this looks like some kind of threat & spat there dummy out.

Morning Neil, we have a stupid rule that say's whichever route the ybs fly that year, the following year the obs fly that route. We had a meeting yesterday & voted as a club to hopefully delete this rule, so we have the obs 2026 going down into Cornwall, plus a choice for the youngster's Cornwall or East to West Stoney cross, Brighton, Eastbourne & Ramsgate.

I think the peregrine issue is country wide so doesn't make much difference, if we went E to W peregrines are at Brighton & virtually all the way back, we've got 8 breeding pairs around home so you know your going to run the gauntlet.
The distance are about the same Neil on each route, & I bet when the Channel racing starts NFC, BICC these club races won't be supported by the elite club's that threatened to leave in 2026 if they don't get there way with the inland program, that's pigeon fancier's for you.

All I'll say Neil is Mendip Hills I don't think I need to go into anymore detail than that, it's easy to see why they are trying to dictate, very selfish.

One thing for sure flying different routes lads in a good location one season will be in a bad location following season
And a bird that wins flying both routes is worth he's grub .

So there just really wanting it for training not for the weekly fed races
Go north 🤣
They went on the North Road a few season's ago & I don't think it was supported very well, & a lot of pigeons lost that year from flying E to W the year before, I think they went up as far as Wakefield, again a lib site infested with peregrines .
They may have reverted back to E to W the following year.

When selecting any race route it should be considered which other organisations will be encountered in the area of the Lib site and on the way home to at least try to minimise the chance of clashing particularly with YBs
Some years ago the RPRA suggested that organisations consider corridor flying for that reason but some decided they were going to do what they wanted and sod everybody else, does this attitude ring a bell?
As far as bop are concerned we must accept that the situation will only get worse nothing will be done so if we want to carry on pigeon racing we are going to have accept that I’m afraid.
