What are ppls thoughts on the length of thr first bone (shoulder) distinguishing a distance bird from a sprint bird.
The theory being that the longer that bone the slower the wing beat. Thus flight csn be sustained over a longer distance.
A bit like a marathon runner having longer legs and a sprint runner having little legs.
I am aware of the theory by Bilco regarding the position of the knuckle but cant see how you can ascertain anything from that but then im wondering if I am missing something.....?

Sprint birds and distance birds fly around home at a different pace I believe . I know a very good distance flier who won’t let his sprint cocks and distance cocks loft fly together to often
I guess he has to the youngsters but he doesn’t like the older ones loft flying or training together

Ya Neil my pal bought long distance birds they done he's nut it wouldn't loft with hes sprint birds would land on house roof ,refused to trap they would miss food and still play up ,,there metabolism was so different like they needed very food to get by ,,
End result is he don't have any distance birds now lol
