What's your thoughts on the throat theory

What's members thoughts on the throat of a racing pigeons, just a theory or is this more important than we think.
Sometimes quoted as the motor of a pigeon, I watched Frank Tasker & Geoff Kirkland talking about this, after watching this it made a lot of sense.

Every good pigeon iv raced as had a good throat ,but I look after racing at my own birds ,if visiting a loft I will look ,,birds with bad throats holes in throats burns on throats and scars I take massive notes of .

If a pigeon say races in a 200mls race that's about 35k wing beats, hope I've got that right. If the motor is faulty because of the bad throat & the pigeon can't fuel it's body properly with oxygen that will leed to very poor results, & returns.
Maybe this is more significant than what I first thought in my understanding.

Neil I think this is more important than I first thought, I've looked into this a bit this afternoon, going forward I will implement it from now on, maybe with regards to racing in the future I need to be able to look & note down in my loft book & build confidence in what I'm looking at. Also maybe why I've not been consistent when racing, that along with health goes hand in hand.

I remember chatting to Geoff about this and I asked him if he’d remove a bird from the team based purely on the throat, his answer was no. Having said that I like to see a good throat, Colin walker wrote a good piece on it, if you can find it.
