Yep I agree Mil two back would be outstanding. But to go through the programme they would have to be a bit special.
Starting up its really difficult to get good birds. No-one wants to sell from their race team. If you buy children of their best to breed from. You would still be breeding from unproven. In the past I bought direct from the best I could afford a few from Parkside superman for example and they never bred a light. I would never breed from unraced / tested again

Whilst there's no guarantees with anything in pigeon racing it seems logical to me that a pedigree that's full of pigeons that have performed at both racing and breeding for consecutive and successive generations have a much greater chance of repeating the same trick

I agree but all I can go is from my experience I bought stock birds with very flashy pedigrees and been very disappointed. Breed the best to the best and hope for the best

Your right MIl the only way is to test them, I think some of the studs sell great grandchildren of proven, then sometimes only on the one side. Too much scope for dilution
