Vance was the route cause of it and then Trump joined in and turned on Zelensky, unbelievable speaking to a countries leader in this manner and for all the world to see, seems to me all the things he said about Mr Zelensky being a dictator and bully are exactly what he did in that interview, what Trump doesn't like is the fact Ukraine have said they are not selling there country out and not giving in to his demands

Easy solution, find out what USA need to be repaid by Ukraine. Then EU buy minerals from Ukraine, and Eukraine then can pay the money back. It wont be 500 billion what Trump says it is. This was a set up to try and make
Zelensky look weak, I don't think it worked the real people will see what game they are playing.

They do not owe anything as far as I am concerned every country made donations of aid etc so cannot come begging for it back later

They are saying around 120 billon dollars, of old stock they would not be using anyway.

But when you see the figures it is only $69bn and the EU have supplied think was 62bn

Remember “The people have spoken?” The Commander in Chief is like a child who has been told no, the people that voted for him could well have cause to regret what they wished for, Zelensky was ambushed and was dead right about them feeling secure because of the Atlantic Ocean but it was ever thus, the bribe of a state visit made my skin crawl, like it or not the West needs America despite them always having their pound of flesh as seen by us paying off their loan in 2006, if the land of the free and the home of the brave want something they usually get it in the end never mind the consequences for others

It is time for Europe to stand together, along with Canada. Allow Ukrain to join Nato, replacing Hungary that really is friends with Russia. We need to build our own defence, no one should live in fear.

We’re a world away from the kerfuffle in 1945, it’s only 80 years from the United action that was thought at the time to be the conflict to end all conflicts, how wrong could they/we be?.
It should be noted that widespread conflict is always driven by Megalomania. Hitler and Stalin were prime examples and now Putin and Trump look like vying for title of Chief crackpot, the problem is generally it’s the innocents that pay for their dreams of world domination.

When Trump was in power last time he tried to "drain the swamp". The old heads in DC were too cunning and headed him off.
This time he's gone in well aware and pre prepared.

Attorney Tom Renz, who actually read Trump's D.O.G.E. Executive Order and, expecting some illegal power grab, found it to be airtight. Turns out Trump and Musk didn't create anything. Obama did.
Obama created United States Digital Service (USDS) in 2014. It was meant as a bureaucratic patch job to fix the Obamacare website meltdown.
Fast forward to 2025. Trump rebrands it DOGE (United States DOGE Service). Keeps the acronym, keeps the funding, but gives it a whole new mission: Find the Receipts
Legally untouchable because it was already fully funded and operational. Trump invokes 5 USC 3161, which allows him to create temporary hiring authorities. DOGE teams get embedded inside every single federal agency. Each team consists of a lawyer, HR rep, a zoomer nerd, and an investigator. They report to DOGE, not the agency they're embedded in.
But wait, there's more! Trump invokes 44 USC Chapter 35, which governs federal IT and cybersecurity oversight. Since USDS was originally an IT oversight body, DOGE now has full access to all federal data systems. Yes, that’s right. All of them.
His executive order is written to block legal challenges. Includes language that overrides conflicting executive orders. Orders every agency to comply. Refusal means they violate presidential authority.
Congress can't defund it because it's not a new program, just a repurposed one. DOJ can't sue for overreach because Trump used existing laws exactly as written. Democrats trying to file legal challenges run into standing issues because DOGE operates within existing frameworks.
Obama literally built the perfect Administrative (read: Deep State) IT backdoor.
Trump and Musk just hacked the system and took the admin controls. Musk now has legal oversight of every major agency's internal systems. The Administrative State can't stop it without rewriting multiple federal laws.
They legally outplayed the system and there’s nothing anyone can do about it.
Obama created DOGE.

Despite its full name, Doge is not an official government department, which would have had to be established by an act of Congress. Which is why some of its acts so far have been blocked. DOGE is not a real government agency. DOGE has no authority to make spending decisions. DOGE has no authority to shut programs down or to ignore federal law
