RPRA Rule Changes

Thanks Andy, this is what I don't understand.
That was my thoughts as well. But apparantly, the AGM is a regional AGM for regional business, when rule changes are RPRA business, so the rule change was put on the agenda and voted on at a preceeding meeting. Does that mean that it now gets published and put on the table for council or does it require another vote at the AGM to get to that stage.?

Ok Andy thanks, so what do you think the vote was for that we just had and why do you think it was on the agenda of a normal region meeting?

Thanks Bowbroom and Andy, I will take your previous advice Bowbroom and go along to the AGM anyway.
I am just trying to understand the procedures and justify to myself what is happening and why!

Well we now know what the much vaunted propositions to change the way the RPRA is governed are as they are now on the RPRA website.
It would appear that the Welsh and East Midland regions have submitted identical propositions to eradicate the Regions and Council and replace them with an Executive committee.
It will be interesting to see the outcome.
No need for any further involvement from you Dave unless you are a regional delegate to Council both of which will become extinct if these propositions succeed.
I wonder how many votes the propositions will receive other than those of the promoting regions?

Somebody has certainly put some time in on this but it should be remembered that the propositions would have originated from an individual/s through their club, the Region if in agreement, is merely the vehicle for onward transmission to Council, the Regions would not have been the instigators.Regions and Council have many times in the past been accused of being like Turkeys not wanting to vote for Xmas, we’ll find out after the AGM

Well of course now that the propositions have been published all the regions will have to have meetings to get their mandates on how they are to vote at the AGM. Could be interesting.

Thanks Bowbroom, would you be surprised you if I told you that there was a council member at our regional meeting that voted for the proposals?
There are many things going on that the fancy, in general, are unaware of and they all indicate that fanciers are disatisfied with the system and if nothing gets changed it will splinter into seperate groups and RPRA will fold anyway.
Did you know that there is an 'entire region' that hasn't paid the levy!?
Many of the regions are sitting on a vast amount of money - East Mids alone is sitting on 30k (even before the upcoming payments of £4 per member) yet still they put on the levy.
Did you know that there is one 'entire region' with a similar amount of funds that paid all its funds back to the clubs without being authorised by RPRA.
There is an immense amount of discord even at the higher level of the hierarchy.
In order to keep our union intact, change has to happen.
The proposals are designed to safeguard the RPRA.
I still don't know your stance on it all but that is of course, your perogative as it is of everyone on here.

Dunno, the AGM is on 28th Feb, rule 50 states that not less than 28 days notice of the meeting incl the agenda must be given therefore the deadline will be 31st Jan perhaps someone thought that putting it on the website was premature? The rules do not provide for publication on the website only in writing to all councillors and publication in the pigeon press
