having just read the thread again it Seam's strange that they are letting you use the system to register birds in your name if you are not a member now they will stop that ..why have they not removed your loft code ect for use instead of archiving it

I don’t think you’ll be able to transfer RPRA rings into your name using your RPRA loft number if you aren’t a fully paid up member with the RPRA.
They do keep very good records of passed members but you don’t have the same rights as paid up members.
When I was out of the sport for 10 years and wanted to start again I contacted the RPRA and they still had my old loft number and longitude and latitude as I was still at the same address. Once I paid my membership they reinstated them to me allowing me to use them again.

That was what I thought that is why I asked the question I did

Your wrong Andy. I've done it. I've not been a RPRA member for a few years now and had RPRA rings transferred to me, which I then transferred to another fancier last year. I think you forget fanciers from other unions and overseas get an RPRA number when they have a RPRA rings transferred into their name.
I still have my old RPRA number even after I resigned from the RPRA as I still have older birds registered with them in my name.

George, I know I'm right, I've done it. The RPRA is an automated transfer system. It allows ANYBODY to use it, RPRA members or not. As long as you have a RPRA number you CAN use it.

Ok king I stand corrected. Do the RPRA give loft numbers out to anyone then without them even being members?

YES they have been for years. I've a transfer for a bird I lost, it was reported in Germany. When I transferred the bird, the transfer came back showing the German fancier with an RPRA number assigned to him.
