It was a sprint race at 34 miles, a minute or two makes a big difference in the velocity. But what does it say for all these pigeons with super pedigrees, well trained and raced when a stray that hasn’t been in a basket for over a year can beat most of them???? With the velocity he would have had he would have been well up in the combine too.

OK George
You've got options for this weekend. You can choose any/all of the following
1. It's Phil's last OB race of the year. He's sending to Vire with the NMCC. These birds will be libbed with the MNFC. He flies 280-1262
2. I'm logged into Gordon Bros ETS system and they start their YB campaign this weekend. At present the intention is to send both with the NIPA and the East Down Combine (separate liberations obviously). Both organisations are Navan. 68-258
Feel free to choose whichever you like, I appreciate it's a lot to handle

Ok George thank you
For those (especially Murray) who need a bit of background on Gordon Bros
Go to Google Maps. They live in a little town called Portaferry in Northern Ireland - its only a couple miles off the Coast
And Saturday's racepoint is Navan
Sometimes they make a last minute decision to either send NIPA or EDC but at present the plan is to go to both.
Same racepoint anyway (separate libs)

Andy Ramsgate 168mls 1458yds
Phil He flies 280-1262 From Vire
Trev from Bovingdon 60mls 695yds.
Gordon Bros Navan. 68-258
Good luck all.
Gordon Bros x 2 remember George (EDC and NIPA)
68 mls from Portaferry
Just treat it like normal South road racing - but for Young Birds

Well, like everybody else in the world the birds are mapped in a straight line from liberation point to the home
So, "in theory" the fastest route home sees them flying in a straight line
But that involves them breaking out of the convoy and taking to the channel pretty much on their own
Whether they are good enough / brave enough to do that is another matter
