I know this much, in my town if you give 99% effort 100% of the time on a Saturday you'lll be exposed

Simple as that

If someone's happy with that then you're a better sportsman than me, 'cos I was never happy if I was beaten

I quite agree.
I like a clean loft, but I never use any disinfectants or anything. I use the scraper and brush all the time, but it is as much for me as the pigeons.
Where I live it often gets pretty warm, like mid to high 30's, and by letting the birds out and leaving the door open the warm breeze soon dries the loft out bone dry.
