I had a pair of cock birds fighting over a nest box and a hen, the winning cock bird sits the eggs by day as you would expect but the really peculiar thing is that the unsuccessful Cock also sits in the box box during the day but on nothing 🤔😀
I've had same sex pairings and have had 2 cocks to 1 hen/ 2 hens to 1 cock, in these cases they have jostled for position with the defeated bird backing off and waiting for their opportunity to dive on the nest. These are strange creatures

The other night I went up to check mine and I found in one box that both the cock and the hen were sitting in the bowl together. Don’t know if they were sitting an egg each lol.
Back just enjoying club racing for the time being.
