As I wrote on the other thread, for some time I have been corresponding with the great old Dutch flyer, Ad Schaerlaeckens.
Ad writes articles in English and Dutch on his website, and his "logboek" (logbook) is a gold mine of gems of wisdom. Both of de Duivensport and human nature.
I grew up speaking one language, English, and a little Maori. Kia ora katoa!
More recently I have leaned a little Telegu, a dialect from southern India, from working with Indian people. Namaskaram. Chala manchi di!
But now I am starting to think in Dutch, from spending so much time reading articles in both languages.
I found myself describing a pigeon in my loft book as " Een goed blauw jongen van Davey Cox." or, A good blue youngster from Davey Cox.
It's only a bit of fun, but language is so interesting, I think.
Nederlandse

I have enough trouble with English let alone any other language lol
I did do French and Spanish at school but couldn't say I learnt much
My son did teach himself Japanese, not for any other reason other than he wanted too. He does love Japan and would like to go there one day, I'm not sure how far he got with it !!
