I took the young birds out for a fly after lunch. I didn't get 10 miles up the road and stopped and got out. It was a howling wind. So I turned around and came back.
I let them go at the football field two streets over from my place.
I wasn't keen about letting them go in that, they fly very low in strong head winds and I could see something garroting itself on a wire.
It's been the coldest June in Canberra, the Capital, since 1939, possibly ever.
Best to be safe Murray, always another day for training. It is all about making that good call, well done mate.

It turned out quite nice today, so I took the young birds, plus two younger ones that have really come along well, out for a decent fly after lunch.
There was a side wind, but they dropped on the board together at 1150 yards per minute.
I was quite happy with that.

Well done Muzza, good to see that things are still progressing nicely.
Good luck mate.

Thanks Trev,
Yep, they are really going well. So It's frustrating that I'll be lucky to get a race into them the ways things are going.
I see another couple of members are off the list for the season, one has lost his driver's licence and one has reportedly run out of pigeons before it even begins. So there's only 6 left including me, and a couple of them might not do much.
I'm not even sure whether they are going to race this weekend, if they do it'll be Sunday and probably go short again so it's no use to me.
So here's me with a team spinning their wheels ready to go. :(
