Try an electric fence at loft or where it is enters garden,if this is not possible if caught in cage ,fill and boil kettle and give it a hot shower.

When training do you have the hens waiting at home for the cocks and when training hens will there be cocks waiting,or do you take both and release them 10 or 15 minutes apart and let them mix for a short time when they are back in loft.
