I’ve been having discussions with John “Magic” over the last couple of days about entering colours on the Bricon ETS system as to what abbreviations to use. On the Bricon system it seems that you have to enter 4 letters. John was asking me hoe to put down a Red, we couldn’t decide the best way of doing it, any suggestions?
We were saying about how difficult it is to determine what some fanciers mean with their abbreviations on the ETS print outs after a race. I know that fanciers interperat colours differently but it would be useful to have some sort of uniformity.
What I have done is put up a list of abbreviations that might help anyone programming their ETS system and might be useful.

BLUE. = Blue Bar
BLPD. = Blue Bar Pied
BCHQ. = Blue Chequer
BCHP. =. Blue Chequer Pied
DCHQ. =. Dark Chequer
DCHP. =. Dark Chequer Pied
BLCK. =. Black
BKPD. =. Black Pied
MELY. =. Mealey
MLYP. =. Mealey Pied
RDCH. =. Red Chequer
RCHP. =. Red Chequer Pied
GRIZ. =. Grizzle
RGRZ. =. Red Grizzle

Rarer colours:

YELW. =. Yellow
YLWP. =. Yellow Pied
YCHQ. =. Yellow Chequer
YCHP. =. Yellow Chequer Pied
DUNN. =. Dunn
DUNP. =. Dunn Pied
CHOC. =. Chocolate
CHCP. =. Chocolate Pied
MOSC. =. Mosaic
SILV. =. Silver
SLVP. =. Silver Pied
SCHQ. =. Siver Chequer
SCHP. =. Silver Chequer Pied
OPAL. = Opal
SLTY. =. Slatey

These are some that I have come up with, feel free to suggest any others or any that would be better another way.

Still haven’t come up with one for a dark red yet John, apart from the one that I suggested to you. Put an A in front and put aRED :lol: :lol:
