Nice little story Magic, quite some pigeon.
I think most birds deserve at least a couple of years before resorting to the bin. I expect many a good bird of has been disposed of because it doesn't conform, good job we don't do the same with our Kids !!
Some birds just develope mentally and physically slower than others.
I have two youngsters at the moment that clear off in the morning and don't turn up again until the evening.
I also had a hen many years ago (not as good as the one you had) that didn't complete a race in race time as a youngster, was late but on the day from each race she had as a yearling was a little better as a two year old but still nothing special.
Then as a three year old I decided it was her last chance, that year she had nearly every race and took cards from 348mls, 431mls and was 1st club from 552mls all in the space of 5 weeks.

Thanks lads, I only posted it for Isaacs sake to show there can be good goods in annoying parcels and now with all you posting of similar experiences he will not be in too big a hurry to follow the bin em brigade.
It will be interesting to see how those two youngsters fare out Trench, lets know how they get on.
Aim for the Moon, even if you miss you will land among the stars.
