Went a bit further again yesterday.

Out through the Forest park, with the thousands of hawks :o  :o  , to the open country on the other side. They have to deal with it, so no point in avoiding it.

They did a couple of circles and headed straight off across the forest.

I got home as quickly as I could. No pigeons.

Then 5 minutes later they all arrived, high and fanned out across the sky! :D

They had a bit of a rest, then most of them took off and flew high and hard for another half an hour, just because they can!

Very pleased with them.
Well done Murray, glad it went well and all returned safely with energy to spare.
As you say they need to learn how to survive and what obstacles/dangers to avoid.
All the best.

I had planned to give them a decent jump out to 45 miles on the freight truck today, but the weather has been terrible.

I might go out to the 30 mile point on Sunday, to keep them going, then to the 45 miles on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Have to put some pressure on them and start finding the better ones.
Regards,

Murray

Good luck Muzza, hope they keep coming well for you and that the hawk stays away.

I had good intentions of taking the champions up the road for a nice stretch this morning.

When I went out to clean them out it was very cold, with a biting wind. Checked the weather thing, 4c, feels like -1.2! :o

Then it started raining.

I might be stupid, don't answer that  , but I am not messing around in the freezing cold and wet training pigeon on Sunday morning. :D

Murray
