Forecast changing all the time for the better. Now looks even possible could be a Saturday lib, still more likely Sunday. Wind is still WSW but now down around 20mph. I am now probably going to send a few. I have 2 young cocks that are sitting eggs that would probably leave them next week. Both are in good feather so will go. I will go through them again tomorrow evening and make my final decision. Looking too send 6 or 7. I’m not expecting to do anything especially in the open result but would rather give them the experience.

If it moves through as expected... so long as one big period of rain comes to me by 6pm (guess you by around 3pm?) tomorrow. Then the fronts should be moving fast enough. Lib 8am Saturday and you could have almost perfect SSW wind.

Looking at the forecast again tonight I have made the decision not to send. It looks like it will definitely be a holdover Saturday and the forecast is for strong WSW winds for Sunday with showers over here. Last year, in similar conditions, there was a total of 2208 birds sent, of which only 157 were sent from over this side of the country. I sent 24 of those and Phil sent 15. I only had 5 of mine back on the day and 7 in total.
I have worked hard with these youngsters this year and am pleased with how they have done so don’t want to throw them away now. Hopefully the weather will be better next weekend for the CSCFC. There does look like there is high pressure coming in next week. The advantage with the classic is that the radius isn’t quite as large, so wouldn’t get dragged so far East even in a West wind. I do need to get entries in for this by this Saturday, but only need to enter and pay for one, and can add more on the day. I will probably enter a few more though and still add more on the day of marking if needed. I would still like to get a race or two with them this year if possible but will see what happens.

Sounds like a good decision Andy, I don't think our race will be great this weekend as the weather does look very unsettled, it will be fast again though if they do go. It's only Blandford again but I won't be sending any first timers.

The right move ,As I've said before you need to have them there to build your team and for the sake of one race its not worth the risk.

Exactly same forecast as last year. Correct decision Andy.

Only 74 youngsters marked at Radstock today. About 20 more from Wales. So less than 100 from this side of the country. I will post the full numbers when known.
Hopefully the weather will be better for next weekend.
