What’s the reasoning behind cutting a bit off the flight feather Devo? Being the feather is dead and the next to fall I can’t see why! But I’m sure they have a reason for doing so.
Andy, the cutting of the feathers, gives an extra 2 weeks in flying. Than a normal wing, the lads do this every year. you only need to cut a small piece off. Like in the photo.
Can’t honestly see how this can make any difference on when they drop that flight. The pigeon won’t have any idea that this has been done. Just confusing me.
Back just enjoying club racing for the time being.

Thanks for the great review of your trip, Devo,
That blue cock, is he from the Romein strain from Frederickshof in Holland? I believe they were bred from the best pure Jansen pigeons.
The lofts of Christoph and Leon are obviously very well run.
Greetings from the land down under. :D

Great to see you had a lovely trip Devo and got to see and handle some top class birds. Did going into the lofts and handling pigeons affect you at all? Health wise.

I am looking forward to my return in September, Christoph and Leon will have a list of lofts to visit. I will meet some of the owners of the birds at the final of the OLR.
