Hi Daz and welcome to the forum, looks like you have had plenty of sound advice sent your way. Tumley lofts also do pigeon supplies so if you've ordered youngsters from them then it may be worth looking at what they have, Racing Pigeon Supplies is another that I've used. There are several members in our Federation that have done very well with birds purchased from Tumley lofts.
As others have already suggested, the best way to get up and running is to find a local fancier who can give you as much guidance and support as you require.
This sport is quite unique and very addictive, you will have all sorts of highs and lows but hopefully you and your son will get a lot of pleasure from the birds. Just don't overcomplicate things, keep it as simple as you can.
All the best, I look forward to hearing more from in the future.

As you are just starting Daz I would sit in the loft with them twice a day for a few minutes and just feed a handful at a time. Once they start going to the drinker stop. You will get them nice and friendly this way.
Back just enjoying club racing for the time being.

So the Birds arrived yesterday & are fantastic a big thank you to Tumley Lofts , all the birds have been handled every couple of hours by me, both my son's & the boss, they seem very settled grooming each other, standing at full stretch with much flapping of wings, they are all feeding & drinking & are quite happy to have us in the loft with them I have left the cardboard box they arrived in, in the loft on it's side like a nest box we have cctv fitted in the loft & when it's lights out they all gather in the box for the night is this ok to let them use the cardboard box to sleep in ? or should I remove it ? they are resting up in the box as a group from time to time throughout the day.
