Good quality racing pigeons remain healthy if they have:
a dry loft with a lot of fresh air.
clean high quality food adapted to their needs.
fresh clean water changed often.
supplements like grit mixtures.
enough space for the pigeons; overcrowding them produces stress which is the main trigger for diseases.
Yes Dev I completely agree, overcrowding is a massive contributor to problems in the loft and ks a problem I have at the moment that desperately needs addressing.

Another tip for the respiratory system:
You can support the respiratory system with the red onion. To do this, scatter the onions two evenings in a row where the pigeons are sitting in front of the boxes.
Not heard of this one before, it would cost me a fortune in onions and I'd cry every time I go in the loft lol

Good subject, Devo.
Tip, rather than putting grit in the loft in a grit pot, where it gets dusty and the birds stop eating it, I put a spoon full in nestbox daily, and some on the floor along the front wall after I have swept out. They go mad for it.
Good tip Murray, I put mine in the feeders and just chuck the remainder on the garden a couple of times a week, I do waste a fair bit but other birds do pick at it on the garden including the pigeons.
Old Des Coulter would just break up house bricks etc and cuttle fish on the path outside his loft and the birds would come down and peck at it while he was doing it.

Some good tips coming
Yes it's a good topic, I just need to rack my brains and see if I can come up with any useful tips myself
Pest control around your garden, can be taken care of with these garden plants. Growing garlic and onions, along with Lavender, Daffodils, Sage, Mint, Lemongrass.. These will all help keeping pest under control. the pest do not like the smell of these plants.
