Wow that is something, the longest I have had one return from a race was 3 weeks, I did have one return after 18 months that was stolen when my loft got broken into
Thanks Dev, a nice little read that. As it suggests someone must have had the bird shut in somewhere but still an amazing story anyway. I've certainly had birds arrive after a year or so but I can't remember any that were much longer than that.
The one I had return after 4 years I think had been streeting. It had been lost off the loft and was quite tatty when it returned. Needles to say it wasn’t any good.
Back just enjoying club racing for the time being.

You wonder where the racing pigeons go, every day u see hundreds of pigeons. To be honest i have not seen any with rings on,
Do occasionally see the odd ones with rings on among the feral’s but not many. I think most of the missing racing pigeons are deceased for one reason or another.

I've often thought the same thing Dev, I've spent ages in town centres and parks trying to see the odd one with a ring on but I could probably count on one hand how many I've seen over the years. I guess the harsh reality of it is that very few domesticated pigeons actually survive.

Yes Trev, the birds that visit me daily, are all in good nick. i give them a mixture of fat balls, chopped brown seeded bread and some peanuts.
