Yesterday morning all seemed ok in the hens section. Then when I went into the section last night I had a yearling hen on the floor, unable to fly up to a perch or able to walk without collapsing. I thought there was a possibility that I would find her dead this morning. But to my surprise she was up in a perch and one of the first to the food trough when I fed them. She came out into the aviary during the day. She has lost a bit of weight and is a little dirty on one nostril but her breathing and droppings seem fine. She is a little wobbly this evening but up in a perch. Just can’t make out what her problem could have been or is. Any ideas?

No sign of any injury George. Not going out so couldn’t have injured herself outside the loft.

You dont really know what may have happened, we cannot see inside the bird. I would rest it in a basket. Half of go lite tablet and add some vitamin B and calcium to the diet. plenty of rest.

I did wonder about that but usually happens when laying. She is split up at present.

Still needs calcium mate they don't only need when laying, failing that have a look at salmonella similar symptoms
