Did this one just now made use of and empty tub, give it a go and if OK will put a block of wood in to angle seed towards the feed holes, as you can see they can be shut off when needed

This is really weird. Just randomly looked at this post and made an exact replica but with one hole only last week!! Same grit box and everything!
I had barley and pellets in mine but they raked quite a lot out.

So have now switched to pellets only and put a shield in to stop the pellets rising quite as high. I’m in Blackpool at the minute so will check it when I get home tonight.

I really want them to work as they are ideal for blocking up the holes at night like you say! I also did the holes a little low on mine but just stand it on 2 bricks.

I have never tried a mixture in any hoppers as I did find them raking it all out quite a lot.

I made some wooden ones first then tried to put an old grit tub to a good use, hence the title ''heres another one'' I use mine every day with a mix in as you say they do rake about but don't get much on floor really, I usually put a whole bag of mix in at one time then each day I put couple scoops seed in one of the drinker stand ones, the feeders are great when going away for a few days along with some 10 litre drinkers

Mine have been raking out so much corn it’s unreal!

I’ve got some hoppers like this that I bought ready done which are way better but don’t have a stopper on for night time so I’ve bought a big storage tub which now sits in middle of loft floor.

Piece of wood on top, that’s where the drinker lives now, and then put the hoppers in the storage tub at end of the day. The tub takes two hoppers and then seals back up.

Morning time, take them out and stick them on the floor, job done.
