I opened the birds up and let them out at 7.15 this morning. It was cold and frosty. They had a good fly and just after 8.00 I went to clean them out and feed them. As I walked up the garden I noticed that a couple of birds were sitting looking wet on the edge of the pond. As I got closer I saw a couple down in the pond having a bath.

As others were also looking for a bath I put a bath down on the decking. I hadn’t even finished filling it before they were in it.

The water was very cold but they didn’t mind.

They are on open loft during the day now so I expect the hens had their turn after the cocks had taken over nest duties.

The cold doesn't seem to worry them does it?
They need to be careful going in that pond with the piranhas :D

Great photos again Andy, our birds had a nice bath today too. I think they actually prefer to bath on a cold and dull day, surprisingly they never seem so keen on a hot day. I wonder if that's because the feathers dry out too quick 🤔🤔

Mine love the bath. On a hot day they roar around until they get puffed, then splash around in the water, have a lie in the sun, then do it again. :D

😀🤣 Their alright on the edge there in the reeds. If they went much further across it’s 5 feet deep lol.

I saw a picture of pigeons floating around in a bloke's swimming pool. It was 6 feet deep.
I wish I could remember where I saw it.
