We were at Littlehampton today, 83 miles for me. I sent 10. After a misty start the birds were finally liberated at 11.30am in a light NE wind. I thought they could be back around 13.00. I got stuck in the shop until 13.15. When I went out to wait I found one had already timed. 264 a blue cock from Buster. This week the Mealey and my nom bird 222 from Buster was only my second bird at 13.22. Third bird at 13.42 was 225 blue chequer cock followed by 265 a blue cock at 14.01, both from Buster. I then had 2 of my own at 14.32 & 14.47 followed at 15.16 by 226 a blue hen once again from Buster. I had no more by the time I went up the club at 17-30, 7/10.
Returns at the club were terrible with most members getting only around half back. One member had 0/16. I was a little behind but not by much.

When I got back from the club I had another 2 back. 224 the last of Busters and another of mine. So just the one of mine missing tonight. 9/10.

Littlehampton again next week. Our last but one race.

I have a bit of a quandary with Busters Mealey that has been coming so well. He will go to the last 2 races. But my problem is how do I send him? He has paired to an old hen. She laid a week ago yesterday. So this week the Mealey was sitting 7 days. Next week he will be sitting 14 days. I haven’t thrown the eggs away yet. So do I throw the eggs and send him to the final race sitting a couple of days overdue or do I leave them to hatch and send him feeding small youngsters? I would then have to rear the youngsters as I couldn’t get rid of them once hatched lol. They would be quite late. I am planning on changing a lot inside the loft once the season is over but fortunately the section he is in isn’t going to be altered.
What’s others thoughts?

Our club pretty much dominated the combine result yesterday. I was 31st combine. So all in all pretty happy with it this week. The missing one isn’t here yet but I think will turn up.

Well done Andy, a quick one today considering it was supposed to be a North wind !!
I have to say there was no wind at all at mine.
As you have the space I would let the eggs hatch and send him feeding small babies !!
I'll have a pair of youngsters sitting about 10 days for next week also a young hen paired to an old cock sitting the same.
