Well done Andy on results and returns, good to see they coming well for you, all they ever needed was someone to bring the best out of them and I am not that person

Great social side there as you say it means a lot when you get that sort of thing and atmosphereAndy wrote: Sun Aug 27, 2023 12:02 pmNo mate. We don’t pay for the nom. The £10 each week comes out of club funds. Every member sending nominates one of their pigeons and the first nominated pigeon timed wins the £10. Your Mealey was only just over a minute behind Phil Ducketts pigeon. I have been second 3 times now I think lol.Buster121 wrote: Sun Aug 27, 2023 11:15 am Do you get anything for being second nom or is it only winner
We also do guess the winning velocity each week. Anyone wishing to have a go pay £1 and write their guess down on a slip of paper which goes into a tin. After the result is known the tin is opened and one by one the guesses are read out. It is a bit of fun with around £13 up for grabs for the closest guess each week. I won it 2 weeks running a couple of weeks ago. The winning velocity this week was 1321ypm. I guessed 1329 and thought I was in for another win but Nigel Nutt guessed spot on at 1321. Second agave lol. I have done that a few times this year also.
It all makes for a great social side with most members staying for a couple of hours on marking and clock nights.
Andy you are more than welcome as is Trev or anyone else as I say they need someone to get the best out of them and I am not that person, will have to put my signature back on my postsAndy wrote: Sun Aug 27, 2023 12:04 pm I’ll have to sort out having some more youngsters from you again next year Buster. I am very pleased with the ones I have along with “Steve” the blue pied yearling cock.![]()
Trev being totally honest never won a sausage or a beanTrev wrote: Sun Aug 27, 2023 12:45 pmI'm sure you've had your fair share of victories over the years Buster, you don't build quality birds like you clearly have if you don't know what you are doing mateBuster121 wrote: Sun Aug 27, 2023 5:54 am Well done Andy on results and returns, good to see they coming well for you, all they ever needed was someone to bring the best out of them and I am not that person![]()

Dispute his relatively young age he has paired to an old hen. He was sitting for the first 3 races and driving the hen this weekend. She laid Friday night so should be sitting for the last 3 races. It will be interesting to see what he does on widowhood next year.
He doesn’t really like being caught. The first couple of races his ETS ring didn’t register on arrival but I have since sorted it out so thankfully no need to catch him when he arrives home. On the other hand blue chequer cock 65 of yours is on at me all the time for a few peanuts.
I am more than happy to test them out for you. I’m not in the best position in the club for these short races but they are still close and considering the hard races we have had with the youngsters they are doing very well. Just 3 races left now.
Not bad at all mate see Mr Wilcox got a few in thereAndy wrote: Sun Aug 27, 2023 9:28 pm This was the combine result for this week. So as you can see not too far away really.

120 suppose it keeps others costs down a bit
Yes mate I know who he is, said it before Andy your birds and others down your end are doing well, is Dave Wilson still flying at CrewkerneAndy wrote: Mon Aug 28, 2023 8:36 amThat of course is Stuart Wilcox, auctioneer and co owner of pigeon chat. Won the national a couple of times. He is in Bristol where the bulk of the birds go. Staddons are certainly on a much better line for them to break out on their way to Bristol. Ours would have to virtually go on a different line from the very start. Our 10 against 1:700+ even including the other 3 members down this way and the Crewkerne club still not more than 150 birds. From such short races they would still be in big batches after just 45 minutes of racing.
