Had a stray youngbird in this afternoon first on in ages

I haven’t had many strays in this year compared to other years but have still had a few. 2 returned to their owners last week.

No I've not had so many this year either !! I had a French young one in a while back that stayed with me for a few weeks before disappearing, I also had one in as a squeaker from Brighton that the owner transferred to me. I do have another one in at moment, I've messaged the owner but had no reply yet
I did have one or two old bird strays, one from Kent that after a couple of attempts to send him home I kept and gave a couple of races to. One was collected the others went on their own.

Come out of loft 7.30 am and there it was trying to get back in loft after speaking to owner Sunday he said throw it up as been reported 2 or 3 times already so did and away it went

Seems like it’s taken a liking to your place.

I had a yearling Irish grizzle hen in about 3 months ago that I picked up off the road in town completely flown out. Because it was from the Republic of Ireland it would have been hard to report and almost impossible to return. She took a couple of days before being able to fly up to the perches. She has been coming and going out of the loft ever since. Until last week when I realised that she had gone. Haven’t seen her since so would like to think that she has gone home.

They do seem to know when they are ready to make the trip home.
