I've kept my yearlings at home along with the couple that have had minor scrapes.
I've sent 6 in all, 4 cocks and 2 hens. The cocks are 3 two year olds and a 5 year old that all flew Hexham (292 miles) a couple of weeks ago, the hens are 2 three year olds, one foew Hexham the other has flown just over 200miles previously and was my first bird last week. We had 10 members sending 45 birds.
Looking at the conditions I'm reckoning on a 12 hr fly with the majority of birds not being home until the second day.
Good luck Trev

Birds are on the way back to Darlington as bad weather is forecast tomorrow at Perth, if they can't get there then it will be weatherby ,they will be going to Perth on next race.

Its very frustrating that we've had to come back to another short one, all that preparation wasted !! I know I harp on about the past but way back then they'd have just held the birds until they could get them up !!!
Sadly the decision to swap Elgin for Perth in two weeks to me just shows that the support for distance racing just isn't there any more.
Yes remember some long waits back in the day

I really thought we would get the distance this year, but its a big fat NO! I've NOW made the move to sprint/middle pigeons. Bought in ten ybs this week and have another ten to come. Everything will now go from 60 to 400 every week. Onwards and upwards.
