Went into one of the sections this morning and most of eggs either broke in bowls or on floor broke, on a good note one pair of the latebreds has laid first egg so fingers crossed on that

No idea mate probably fighting well that's what I put it down to, good job I had others for plan ''B''
They have been fine Andy I opened the pipo boxes weeks ago in preparation and only put bowls in last week, giving plenty time to settle and what I did was open the boxes to the pairs already in that side and shut other side outAndy wrote: Sat Mar 11, 2023 5:35 pm I know you didn’t select your pairs like I have. But that’s why I like to get all pairs out before any eggs are laid.
Wishful thinking mate sadly some more today, took most bowls out 1 section
Yes mate we have bothTrev wrote: Sun Mar 12, 2023 8:34 pmSorry to hear you've been having problems matethere is no rush on my account so don't panic, hopefully they will settle down more once it warms up again
Do you have foxes or cats around mate ?? The only time I've had issues like that before was a couple of years ago when somthing unsettled the birds over night and I lost a whole round of eggs !!!
Not sure what it is to be honest, if you can recall had it happen in past as well that's why I put down to fightingTrev wrote: Sun Mar 12, 2023 9:00 pmHmmm it could be something to do with them hanging around over night !!!Buster121 wrote: Sun Mar 12, 2023 8:35 pmYes mate we have bothTrev wrote: Sun Mar 12, 2023 8:34 pm

No mate still have enough to fulfill requirementsAndy wrote: Sun Mar 12, 2023 10:06 pm I do remember you having a problem a couple of years ago Buster. I’d be surprised if it was fighting with so many eggs broken/left especially overnight. Could have the odd one go in the wrong box but not to the extent you seem to have had. I would say it’s more likely to be something external than internal where the birds sitting have panicked. You would also have seen some signs of some of the birds having been fighting. Although it does sound that it could be something getting in the loft but if that was the case you would think that what ever it was would have been after the pigeons. Unless it was something like a snake after the eggs. I don’t think rats would do that.
Same as Trev. No hurry here if you would rather wait until a bit latter.
