First of all welcome to the forum!

I have a few ideas 💡

I'll start with some basic ones...

Anything that provides information for new fanciers, points of contact, tips and advice etc.

Yes, many people that read it will know alot of the information already, but what about people who are visiting friends or relatives who are not as familiar, they could pick it up to browse, and will instantly be able to talk about a topic with them. Example, grand kids could read a topic and it could spark up an interest.

Could do a different topic each week, start with thing that are relevant to the time of year, things to look at during the off season.

The Blackpool show... It's great we get a special edition, the week of the show with the sales lists etc, but what else could be said about the show? Just because the racing has stopped for the year, doesn't mean other parts of the fancy stops. Some clubs will transition into a show season. Could have information from judges or exhibitors showing what they are looking for etc.

Alot of the time this information comes great with more pictures and less words! Show me rather than tell me if that makes sense?

Next, get in touch with Kyle Douglas, he runs the Whitby Rescue Centre to help get lost birds back home! Ask if he'd be willing to publish his turnover each week/month, highlight the good stuff he and others in the sport are doing!!

Highlight the Digital world, recommend YouTube channels and blogs, I know I am bias here as I am also in this space, but reach out, and once again highlight and recommend good content for people watch or enjoy.

Controversial time now...

RPRA committee meetings are coming up on the horizon, without dragging up old arguments, explain over a few editions what the roles are, what the process is, and anything that the RPRA recommends to be put forward to the membership, good clear communication with the membership!

If it's going to benefit the members, then communicate that, explain why it's recommended, and give the pros and cons!

I'm sure I have more ideas, feel free to get in touch privately if needs be!

Forward thinking Matt - exactly what the sport needs.
But rest assured mate, you won't get any of that from either organisation. They are all too busy looking after their own interests to even care about their members.

Chris Sutton took my number twelve months ago, after the crisis statement came out, with the purpose of discussing the BHW.

Unfortunately I am still waiting for the phone call!

I'm still waiting a response from him for about 2/3 years now, I do every now and then nudge him but a waste of time just like he is in my opinion, thinks he is above you since he got the job

Would I be right in saying he was only a photographer before he took that job.....?
The RPRA was in a bad enough state before he took the job now it is 10 x worse.
He is just a puppet to the 'council' anyway.
You call them "committee meetings" Matt - I call them "jollies"!!!
A time when all the unnecessary power grabbing muppets from all the regions can get together on an all expenses paid jolly (paid for by us- the members) with a view to finding even more ways to waste more of the members money.
If I'm wrong on this, I'm sure someone will soon put me right.
