Over the years in the sport, i was told i kept my loft to clean. But i always keep a clen environment, so keeping my loft clean was for me. Others would say they clean out the loft, every few months or twice a year. So what is your idea of loft cleaning ?

I am retired.
I am home all day most days so I clean out first thing in the morning and after the afternoon feed.
But, I am pottering around all day long, so the pigeons are being cleaned all day long.
It's a fact that the healthier your pigeons are, the cleaner your loft seems to be. This pleases me because I've got a lot of pigeons on 10 to 12 day eggs and the place is perfect.

Everything is cleaned daily it's always been my way but lots of people are exactly the opposite in opinion including friends of mine who are incredibly successful, Tom cleans once a month and always has thick litter of dropping on everything, that's not for me but it works for him, I think both seems to be fine but I prefer to clean daily and have that peace of mind

Every day all cleaned used to do it twice a day but can only manage once these days

I don't think it matters. I used to clean out everyday. Now I'm on deep litter and have been for the last 7 years. The health of the birds is EXACTLY the same. I look back at all the hours I wasted scraping out. I think it's the fanciers who feel better about a clean loft, the birds don't care either way. As long as the loft is DRY its up to your personal choice.

as I'm new to pigeons I clean out after work each day and give it a good clean of a weekend, easy clean perches which is handy and scraping floors ect. Fresh water every day once the birds are out flying

I clean ones a day, it’s defo for me tho as I just like
Being in the loft again and sitting with the birds and watching them.

Have to agree with that, but with my lung disease I find I need to keep the shed as clean as I can to minimize the amount of dust and stuff.
With the wet winter we just had I covered the back vents to keep the damp air from coming in from under the floor and I've been using a good amount of pine wood shavings on the floor. The shavings seem to gather the dust out of the air. The environment is very good in there.

The pigeons don't care, all clean and shiny means nothing to them.
