Belgium have stopped the national on the 15th no two day convoys allowed till further notice! what annoys me is why they have not enforced ac transport but keep cancelling due to not having it, sometimes you look at Belgium and think for such a great pigeon country they always the last to change to common sense reform, a lot of brits would be shocked to see some Belgium clubs transporters and baskets

How many Feds in the UK have Air-Con? Many Feds struggle to make actually racing pay, let alone spending money they do not have.

Majority have either forced air systems or electric ac and we all have watering systems, light years from current Belgium transport, we also don't have open sided convoys anymore Belgium do

I would say we have always been behind on how the sport runs in the UK. In Europe there is much sponsorship that goes on, helping the sport while still making profits. The likes of Belgium and Holland, over the years have reached top racing in the sport. Some races with over 42,000 birds, so sponsors like PIPA promoting these races have helped. Along with the major corn brands. That is how i have seen it over the years, But others may differ.

Many in Belgium also have these Danny. Don't be fooled into thinking the UK is leading the way it isn't. The National Flying Club only changed to their custom super-transporters following the retirement of Catteralls transport, around late 2019. And I'll bet the transporter your Fed uses isn't as modern.

@king I don't think we lead the way by any means but the average uk fed trucks are far better than what we see in Belgium even down to basket quality and drinkers for pigeon welfare imo not even debatable

I agree some transport is better than others Danny, but many 'new' baskets are really not suitable for pigeons. I'm talking about these Aluminium crates (Geraldy) these are not an improvement over wicker baskets. The Aluminium ones are probably easier to clean, but for pigeon welfare and comfort you can't beat Wicker. And in Warm weather which will become the norm these Aluminium ones get very hot and retain that heat.

@king I'm not a fan of the geraldy ones either really , I like the universal crates with the aluminium shell plastic interior the birds seem to settle in them pretty well never had issues! And from the selfish side of things maintaining them is way easier which to be honest is why most prefer them absolutely
