The trouble with these continuous use products is they prevent use of other products. There's a few around like quill boost that does the same. They are expensive in the long run and what do they really do? They are just water sanitisers. Clean Tap water should be just as effective, as it's fit for human use?
They claim to Prevent harmful bacteria such as E. coli and salmonella. Clean Water does that. Protect beneficial bacteria. Clean Water again does that. (people who use bleach KILL beneficial bacteria) and the last claim. Improve digestion and racing/breeding results? Impossible to prove.
Anybody who uses a product like this should either taste it themselves, and get a shock of how bad it is. Or place TWO drinkers in the loft one with the product in, and one without. And see which gets emptied first.

With me not having any birds anymore, I still like to know more about different feeds, Vanroby i did use when i was breeding, also the p 40 pellets in breeding season. I also used yakult in the water, when i was breeding. Just my own thoughts for feeding the babies.

I've often joked with fanciers that's why so many birds don't come home after being lost. They can't find water that's the same colour and taste that they are used too

@king I think that's more down to bad training personally! Fanciers throwing birds into 75 miles with a couple of 25 mile tosses before first race and taking weeks just to get them to 25 starting with 1 and 3 mile tosses cotton wool treatment doesn't work from my experience and doubting the intelligence and ability of the birds start at 10 and push is our way

If you was starting up again and you had late breds to start with, getting them use to your loft, feed and surrounding then start letting them out and training to use the trap. Once you have had them fly round the loft a few times and trap. what would be the starting point for your road training
how many times would you stay at this first point before moving the birds on ?
What would you increase the road training to in miles ?

We start at 10 and they stay at ten till they are turning once then off, then we move to 20 the same till they are turning once then off, the birds will tell you when you can step up by one rotation and straight for home, with late breds and been new I'd start at 3 and let them get use to routing your area twice a day disappearing for half hour or more is ideal, be consistent pigeons love routine so out and called back consistently at the same time is really important imo, but I work with really high quality birds a lot of birds won't take our training program, what you want is them healthy in good condition and training to your abilities the best you can

Thanks Danny for the tips on starting miles and moving the birds on, so once the birds return an trap first time that's the time to move them on with the road training ?

@tony no we want them trapping well but most importantly clearing the lib site from one rotation and heading straight off then they confident enough to move
