Weather vanes

Do any of our members still use weather vanes? There were around the lofts many years ago.
I had a nice one on the loft back in New Zealand until a youngster ploughed into it and killed itself. Hit the ground stone dead. It came down after that.
I've been carting it around Australia for 20 years. It's still hanging in the shed.
