Time to reflect

With todays race my first ever OB+YL Season is done. Now its time to reflect and time to adjust for next year. It was a great season in 11 races 5x1st club 2x2nd club and 2x1st combine. But I still did many misstakes and had 4 bad races.
I can't properly tell yet what misstakes exactly i have done for it to have led to those 4 bad races but i have a few guesses that will be changed for next season.

I really like my system for the hens they did also outperform the cocks by quiet a bit atleast when it comes to speed.
Some might have seen the pictures before some haven't but i keep them locked in boxes for 22 hours a day. These are specially designed for hens with 2 doors that you can close. They are all individually feed and watered and only let out when they are trained on the house.
This system definetly gave me and edge towards the last 4 races. because my hens were still fully motivated and focused on their cocks. And i heard from alot of lads in our combine that their hens towards the end of the season weren't as interested in their partner anymore i did have any issues like that on family day they jumped right into the boxes with the cocks without any problem and they got right to it.

My feeding and supplement system will both be changed next year despite the good performance. I think i overcomplicated alot when it comes to feeding and i want to keep things a bit more simple.
Supplement system was a bit to much with about 12-14 different supplements through the season this will be reduced to about 7 for the next season.

New boxes for the cocks will also be on route towards the end of the year. Possibly 4-8 more boxes but overall just new ones. The current boxes that the cocks race from are gifted from a lad that died last year that he gifted me shortly before but they are fully breaking apart and make my whole progress with individal feeding and my family day just more annoying with them all not working properly and as intended.

All in all. Great 1st season very pleased But also way more work then i tought it would be. Me and my father spend atleast 2-4 hours a day on the lofts and all that hard work reflects the results. Can't expect anything from doing nothing.

I appreciate everyone who followed along through the season and even the people who i had a few altercations with probaly added some fuel to my fire which made me try harder :D :D :D. At the end of the day we all follow the same goal and share the same passion even tho we dont always agree with what someone else does or has to say !

Well done Leon.
Thanks for sharing that with us all. We can all learn something just from that one post.
Let us know when you realise what those mistakes were.
Good luck with the y.birds.

Great report, Leon.
A very successful season and you will be very pleased.
I like what you said about doing what you think is best, not worrying too much about what others do or say. Good for you.
Yes, you might look at simplifying your system, simpler is often better.
Well done, I hope it continues.
