Not sure if this is true roundabout or not.
Is it prefereable to let the cocks have the boxes and keep the hens in a small section or give the hens the boxes and keep the cocks seperate.
OR would it be disasterous if I wanted to alternate them each week, racing the sex that had the boxes that particular week?
I intend to pair up for the longer races but want to get them going on rounabout for the first couple of months

Thanks Neil, mine would be trapping to the same section with the boxes and then one or the other sex pushed through to the perch section.

On double widowhood I can get as many cocks as hens on first drop on roundabout suited hens I would have prize cards inch deep of hens n quaternary inch deep of cocks so says it all .

Thanks Mike n Ant.
I think I am governed by my limited space
so I have one section with boxes and a smaller section next door with perches. I know this suits the roundabout but not sure if I could make double widowhood or anything else.

Ant, which flew best when you had the cocks in the hens section, cocks or hens?

I have 16ft for cocks 8ft for hens dave birds fly out n trap to there own section all week but race day both traps are opened n hens can get from there section to cocks ,,this way hens only see boxes after a race not each day ok .

Ah, I see how that could work very well Anthony.
I have set my loft up for roundabout cos I think its a great way to get both sexes fit before pairing up for the distance.
I just wondered if anyone had tried alternating the sexes in the section with boxes.
Good luck with the dble w.hood this year mate - not long to go now.
