What do members use in there training baskets as a floor covering to keep the pigeons feet clean, I know you can't do much about it in the race basket's to go on the lorry, the Combine used to put corrugated cardboard with a layer of coarse sand .
The club I'm racing with have a Geraldy trailer so should be better I think . Just interested in what you use when training etc that's helped.

Once the hessian lining wore out I used a piece of carpet with shavings.

I use the plastic grids and newspaper these days as recommended by a club mate.

I was using shavings before but was advised that it encourages the birds to pick through it and risks the spread of cocci!

My own baskets also have newspaper and plastics grilles but the club/fed crates use the corrugated card and a sprinkle of dry peat over them.
