I was reading that the protein in fats does se not repair muscle in the same way protein from beans do
I didn’t actually understand it fully can a member explain it in easy terms

There are TWO types of Protein Neil
Complete Proteins: These contain all nine essential amino acids (EAAs) that your body cannot produce on its own, primarily in animal products (meat, eggs, dairy, fish) and some plant sources like soy.
Incomplete Proteins: Many plant-based proteins (like nuts, beans, or grains) lack one or more EAAs. You can still repair muscle with these by combining different sources (e.g., rice and beans) to create a complete amino acid profile.

Here is the AI answer Neil.
Comparison for Muscle Repair
Hemp (The "Superfood" Choice):
Higher Digestibility: Although beans (like peas) often have a higher crude protein count, hemp has much higher usable or absorbable protein (approximately 11.7% compared to 7.1% in peas).
Complete Protein: It contains all 20 amino acids, including the nine essential ones pigeons cannot produce themselves, which are critical for rebuilding muscle tissue after intense flight.
Anti-Inflammatory: Hemp is rich in Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids in an optimal 3:1 ratio, which helps reduce muscle inflammation after racing.
Beans/Pulses (The "Bulk" Choice):
Higher Raw Protein: Beans and peas typically contain 20-25% crude protein, making them a standard staple for muscle building during the breeding and off-season.
Digestive Load: They are harder for pigeons to digest and can lead to larger amounts of waste (droppings) if fed in excess.
Amino Acid Gaps: Most legumes are low in sulphur-containing amino acids (like methionine), which are essential for complete recovery

I've seen some utter bullsh!t generated on there recently
Ok mate
To be honest I don’t really understand all that or how it works I guess it searches the web faster than manual search
Its quite clever yet stupid at the same time.

In simple terms it will take the top ten results of a search, stick them in a pot, mix them through, and then spit out something that falls in line with what those ten results were saying!

The issue comes when some of those results were giving wrong or out dated information, that still ends up in the pot, and get mixed into the outcome!

I use to feed a light mix then 2 hours later a full pot of peas

From reading your post my current system would be the better of the two for recovery and repair ?
If you disregard the AI part. Protein repairs Muscle. So BOTH Hemp & Beans will work. As it's the amino acids that's the important part you could feed ANY grain high in Protein and supplement the feed by adding amino acids to drinking water.
Your feed is fine as you want the birds to race every week. A distance flyer could just feed Protein over a longer period and repair the muscle.

You know if there repaired or not the minit you walk to the loft when hens are skipping with excitement to fly or cocks are facing the back of there box flapping there wings like mad there ready for exercise if there quite n no bounce to em keep em in until there recovered.
