When I'm sprint racing i feed by hand the birds get what I give them ,I couldn't care less if some act hungry,,old man told me the fitness he ever was ,was when he served in the army he also said he was constantly hungry ,
Pigeons here are treated like there in army as baby's I want to weed the weak out ,yearlings there like soldiers anything here 2,3,4 Yr old is bit special.

Do fanciers take in two account what they feed ,because 5gms of 1 food will have more nutrition value than 15gms of another feed ,,
Where all iv ever done my whole life is animals, its never the amount you feed its what you feed ,,
See barley is a great filler like giving a horse chaff
But 1 teaspoon hemp is like 4 teaspoon barley nutrition wise like 1 scoop micro feed for horse is like a full bucket of chaff,, u can feed both ways 1 will act hungry 1 won't but neither will lose weight or lack energy intact the one that's hungry will have more nutrition to call on when tired.

I have a way I feed i don't have to weigh feed it's measured in my head by years of feeding this way

I don't no Neil I keep it simple high carb all winter high fat all race season.

Barley fed droppings are excellent
High fat droppings not as good but I can't get 75 to 90 percent of team on drop fed a high carb diet if tried hard most I got was 9 together iv had over 30 together on high fat diet ,because I write n document my daily dairy in season its hard to try different, must state this is south rd racing not not north rd ok .

Sunflower if u chew a piece and you get like pins n needles in ya mouth it has gone of and will definitely upset ya birds ,especially in hot weather it can turn really fast ,,don't know if lads know this but definitely test it in summer ok now it's fine

In south Africa the shell it when they want it ,,see in south Africa they use black sunflower as a regulator like fanciers use barley here ,,when u take sunflower out the shell it is full of oil u can squeeze 1 piece and get a fair amount of oil from it.
