This a general question what would be your choice of grit, I've tried the Matrix 1 but seems to be more dust than anything else.
Also what would you get pick pot wise & black or pink minerals, I'm a bit wary as if they get damp may cause an issue, what's your preference if any.

I use the grit with redstone, and would choose pink minerals over black in damp weather

Next time I'm up the corn shop I'll have a look at the Beyers one, maybe stop the black mineral one as it gets damp & I think that won't be good.
I have the pick pots think they are the Versa Laga Columbine ones in the clay pots 6 in a pack.

The Matric is all dust the last bucket I had, will try the Beyers for a change or at least see what it's like. Has anyone tried the Jovatti grit not sure if I've spelt that right sorry. That a better option on price Neil by far.

My pal owns gem supplements iv been there many times when there making matrix and I can 100 percent guarantee that all the ingredients are the very best .90 percent of stuff in it looks like it's beyers when I watch them make it must be so expensive to make .

I should of taken the bucket back at the time as it was all dust unusable really, that's the last bucket I had I went back to red stone grit.

When I was a kid and kept pigeons there were none of these fancy, expensive grits around and all you had was a large bag of mixed pigeon grit which is what I still use now.
Is there more in it nowadays or do you all use these expensive ones as another supplement.?
At the mo, I mix a bucket of the de patagoons with a 20kg bag of standard pigeon grit and give it every 2 or 3 days but there is always some left in the tray anyway so can say it is in front of them all the time.
Am I missing out.....?

I'm not sure I would leave grit down jmo if you put down a minimal amount in each boxes gauge how much to put down then adjust it accordingly, I wouldn't put down a full pot anyway it gets flicked about & is wasteful if put on loft floor.
If at this time of year I maybe would give them a pinch more when they have ybs in the nest along with a salt lick or give a pinch of Himalayan salt, stop to much water being pumped into the ybs, nobody like to see nest box wet with watery droppings.
