Been to my local corn store yesterday & yes I could feel the buzz with the conversation with the owner.
He's into his long distance racing, he was telling me that he'd come 2nd in the BICC race from Barcelona.
He's been out to a lot of the top long distance lofts this year with Mark Gilbert Belgium, Holland so he's very focused on what he wants to do in 2026.

Passion, drive and the will to improve are key elements in progressing
Totally agree Mike, he's been focused more in the last couple of year's, he's been able to acquire pigeons that have brought him this success so far, I'm sure along with the other 2 partner's that they will reach there dream I'm sure of that.

Whereabouts in the UK is he based (region not town). My ambition is to one day time in from Barcelona - it’s 800+miles to me in Derbyshire.

here in Northamptonshire. Its still likely to be a year or 2 away yet for me but I have one or 2 that might go this year depending on their build-up
Hope to meet you someehere on that journey mate.

What I thought was interesting in conversation was the fact that he mentioned Jellema night flyer's to which I replied well if he's near a city this would be how his pigeons fly at night or keep going in the hour's of darkness . His reply was after visiting he's well out in the countryside & very dark, he thought the same as me but that's not the case.
How his pigeons keep going in the darkness I'm not sure, all I'll say is they've managed to acquire stock that have this ability.

I honestly think the whole atmosphere around National and Classic racing is better .
1. more positivity
2 .more enjoyable
3 . like minded fanciers
all of which makes you try harder
