Hi everyone,

For those of you who’ve been following my updates or chatting with me about the struggle of paper loft records, I’m thrilled to announce that LoftBuddy is officially finished and available!

It’s been a massive effort, but I’ve built the digital loft management system I always wanted—one that’s fast, reliable, and keeps pace with the demands of the breeding and racing seasons.

Free to Use, Built for Fanciers
Yes, that’s right: LoftBuddy is completely free to use. My goal was to make professional-grade record keeping accessible to every fancier.

The app is supported by minimal, non-intrusive advertisements. For anyone who prefers a completely clean interface, there will be an optional, low-cost subscription to remove all ads.

What's New & What It Does
LoftBuddy is now fully featured for the upcoming season, handling everything from first egg to final race result.

1. Painless Breeding Round Management
The biggest feature I focused on was making breeding records instant and clean:

Quick Logging: Log Egg 1/Egg 2 dates for all your pairs. The app automatically calculates the estimated hatch date—no more counting days!

Automatic Pedigree Builder: When the chicks hatch, you simply input their ring numbers, and LoftBuddy immediately creates a new bird profile for each one, pre-linking them to the correct Sire and Dam to build their digital pedigree instantly.

Complete Control: I’ve just finished adding the ability to easily edit or delete entire breeding rounds if something goes wrong, keeping your records clean and accurate.

2. Digital Bird Profiles & Lineage
Every bird has its own profile with photos, colour, strain, and race data.

Get instant access to the full family tree (pedigree) of any bird, anytime, anywhere—no need to dig through folders.

3. Data-Driven Decisions
You can record your birds’ LPI/scoring, and LoftBuddy gives you an estimated LPI for the offspring of a pairing, helping you make smarter pairing choices.

Since this is a web application, there’s nothing to download! You can access it on any device—phone, tablet, or desktop.

Be great for pigeon studs or people just breeding large numbers to sell save loads of work for them
Could you not sell it to them so you get something back
Maybe do it free for people breeding 40/50 birds or a small charge then increase it by size to cost

To be honest, at some point there will be minimal ads included in the App, obviously they won't be invasive, but I figured this should be enough to cover any costs, with this then comes the paid option to disable the ads, again this will only be a nominal fee.

After that, I guess there will be the possibilty to sell "Promotional" spaces, where people could in theory advertise different products, services etc.

But, if I'm honest all of that is way down my priority list, as I am aiming to make something thats genuinely useful to people! Originally it started out for my use, and then expanded a bit, and someone suggested that I turn it into something that others could use too!

On a related note,

Does anyone here know much about racing with NIPA? Do they use the RPRA race points as well as Ireland based ones?

This question also applies to elsewhere in the world too, if anyone knows of a resource with different Unions and their liberation sites that would be amazing!

The RPRA doesn't own the liberation sites. Organisations must book and pay for the use of these sites through the RPRA website or by contacting the RPRA HQ directly to ensure proper coordination and adherence to site conditions. The RPRA then coordinates the bookings for these sites to prevent clashing between different pigeon racing organisations. Any Union can use them.
