Would any members have any experience with this product, I think it's a calcium product + minerals for chick's.

Rapid D Plus is a liquid complimentary feed for poultry. We recommend the use of Rapid D Plus at chick start, at peak growth when Vitamin D3 uptake is required with rapid effect. Vitamin D assists uptake of calcium from the intestine to ensure strong bones.

A significant percentage of commercially raised chickens experience leg problems because they grow too quickly for their skeletal system to support their body weight. Studies indicate that:
Most birds have some walking abnormality: In surveys of commercial flocks, as many as 90% of birds have been found to have a detectable gait abnormality of some degree.
Significant welfare issues are common: Approximately 14% to 30% of fast-growing broiler chickens experience moderate to severe gait impairment.
A notable minority are severely affected: About 3% to 3.3% of birds are almost completely unable to walk.
Many experience chronic pain: In some studies, 26% of birds had gait scores indicating a severe defect or an inability for sustained walking, which is likely associated with chronic pain and discomfort.

Growing pigeons don't need anything extra to increase calcium take up, the parents provide all they need.

Not denying the value of supplements particularly with regard to race performance but it does make you wonder what we used to do when we only had corn and water

Was there ever a time when it was just corn and water? There have always been tonics or supplement I think the big difference now is the sheer volume of them. Manufacturers have learned how to empty our pockets

Probably not but there are 100s more than when I started in the early 70s. And whilst many appear every year, many disappear just as quick. Just reading on here, some fanciers must have more days in a week than me to give them all. I use Gempax, iodine & a mulitivitamin.

The only one that I was aware of back in 1963 was Johnson’s tonic and that was it, not that I used it I couldn’t afford it
