I use to feed like this but u don't have many birds left after 2 seasons I feed now where all the birds have a minimum of 8 hours fat in them ,,there's no difference in performance even at 65 miles they still poor in trap like rockets .NeilA wrote: Thu Nov 06, 2025 11:57 amI think your right seems done say just getting in the air others say after a hourMIke Lycett wrote: Thu Nov 06, 2025 10:56 amI don't think that there's a hardcore definitive answer on this.NeilA wrote: Thu Nov 06, 2025 10:06 am Read that mate
It’s the carbs I can’t get I have seen it as low as gone by just after lift off to taking a hour
Not saying the birds won’t get home more flying at speed
So it’s hard to know when or what fats they use or need when seems a fair bit of difference in when the carbs are gone
Do you need 3g of fat at 10 min or 60 min
Then if unused it’s dead weight
So say you go a 120 min race and you want say 3g fats per hour as a guide in the build up do you really need 5.5 grams
They use to give bi carb soda to get extra furlong out of horse I use to give a teaspoon a day over dogs food in season.NeilA wrote: Thu Nov 06, 2025 12:25 pmYes been told just reaching height and like you others say your get 50/60 miles out of themAnthony webster wrote: Thu Nov 06, 2025 12:15 pm I don't know answer some say 1 hour so even say few minutes,,with dogs it's literally seconds they burn carbs
How about race horses Anthony ate they like dogs
I wonder what the difference between sprint cyclist and grand tour cyclist as there body shape isn’t as contrasting as a 100m runner and a marathon runner that diet you can see more with heavy protein
