I can understand that thinking
Would it be a real high fat
Say VL energy as that’s about 25/26 per cent or more a diet fat that could be down to 15 per cent
Its a mix I do my self Neil could be similar in fat or bit higher pal ,,see I find dogs pigeons most animals stay leaner on a fat diet when being worked hard ,,see when we had high carbs to a dog they get sluggish, so I'm one of them that all ways does opposite to what others do pal plus I think carbs don't actually last long in a animal like few minutes most even less with a dog few seconds with a dog.

I have read carbs are only good for 30-60 min many times but I guess with Gerry 10 pc they get 2-21/2 hours at speed
After that I don’t think they do carry on at the same speed
Plus carbs unused i believe are turning to fat ?
Now is that a different form of fat compared to fat for energy or the same ?
I don't no Neil,,see I like feeding a fat diet as base because as the races get further the less I have to adjust so when mnfc starts I only tweek few things and I can keep sprint birds in same loft as channel birds ,channel birds go Thursday morning so the 2 feeds Thurs I adjust for the sprint birds ,,iv had first 5 in fed sprinting n had 3 fastest at clocking Station from mnfc feeding the birds same just the sprint team last 2 meals were tweeked

So really you feeding the lot high fat but say last feed or two your going carbs which fits sprinting and mntc isn’t buggered as there fat loaded and going to be fed on the lorry the feral mix
Pretty much Neil just opposite to adding fats to carbs really.

Do members use a fatty seeds daily in the season or at set times
I use loads Saturday at times Sunday morning
Then I drop them for a lot of barley as my pigeons stay in Sunday and Monday and and go heavy Wednesday night Thursday morning before returning to carbs
I see the mixtures mix like Galaxy light has some fats in and they feed it every day
So is little each day better or can there be to much as most mixtures have 10 percent so 3g of fat anyway
Be interested in all views but particularly if Goose or Steve are about that would be good
with there thoughts for middle/ long
distance fliers
IMO you can't feed for a long distance fly over a few days, I've tried it and the birds have failed everytime. Having said that Neil I think a lot of factors come into play which may be down to individual circumstance. I can fly in two feds, in one nearly all the birds are going into Norwich ( I'm about 10 miles north ) on a short race 90% of the birds are home within a short space of time, the other Fed Norfolk & Suffolk is 50miles wide and probably as deep, they can liberate from the same race point on the same day and it can take two or three hours to get them all, these birds burn up more of their reserves so need more help to recover. Early season I think 50% barley is fine especially if they have reared youngsters, but by early may if you want them for 400+ then they need more Protein/Fat, so I tend to add small amounts over time.

Yes pal 1hr am n pm must fly don't like birds landing in exercise,,my view fat people stop for rest when running mine fly the hour if they go to land its 1hr 5 mins flying
And flying as well can't stand seeing pigeons fly like there a rotary washing line go round in circles 50ft of ground I want them up like dots flying sky out pal .

Blimey Ant, you go against everything I read and hear yet you make perfect sense.
It's been said on here many times if you want ur birds to loft fly you have to feed carbs/ barley.
Can I ask then, would ur measures be different to those being fed say 1n half ounces on a carb diet?

I feed carbs all winter dave so when I go on two fats the birds burn weight pal ,,like us going on caveman diet but once they stop craving carbs there energy levels go through the roof n there body gets muscled beautiful with out weight ,,
Body builders on high carb diets when they swith to protien n fat diets they get even bigger but more ripped pal ,,
My pal just eating stake n eggs in 60 days as lost 30lb in weight just going to work zero exercise just cut carbs out he's daily diet.

That will be me you mean Dave
Look at bit further and see how often them people like me loft fly
60 min 3 days
Feed them barley out for a hour a night there fly for fun
Anthony twice a day 4 days isn’t the same is it
Some weeks tho Neil if its tough or bad weather birds stay in but u feed for that week,,every week is slightly different there's no 7 day programme to follow because each week is different plus you get gut instincts as well during week.
