Local man in my club him and he's brothers still hold record
1st2nd3rd nrcc Lerwick when only 4 made it on day ,,alot of time these flyers was unbelievable with late breds
Perry brothers think it's only Eddie still alive and races now with hes friend bunny.

Think so Neil still have them n gastons as well now

Some are very good the old ones I tried and ones friends had were really good on n east winds when it got tough they got going ,I had 2 Franz laereman that were 50 percent gaston when Franz n gaston use to swap ,,2 nest sister 2nd3rd fed 3 weeks running one had 4x3rd fed in 4 weeks 3 times beat by loft mates 4th time 3rd fed 6th lnrc ,very good the original kassboar lines .

How many miles is that to your lofts Anthony/ Neil, & how would you feed in the week of basketing, especially if there was going to be a hold over for a few day's.

Would loved to have had a go at Lerwick but we were a few miles short of the qualifying distance to join the NRCC I believe the northern boundary is around the chesterfield area

Yes I think you’re right, I think we fly around the 460 mark

When I was a lad the local Fed turned north it only lasted a year instead of the majority of races being flown in a tail wind most were flown in head winds with the result that a lot of the wiff waff pigeons couldn’t hack it

Definitely get more head winds north

I found the North road clubs around me had better vels in a head wind, than South road clubs did in a head wind of the same strength due to a south wind being warmer. Have you found that Neil?

518 to me and if they come straight that’s 500miles of North Sea and if I’m honest I don’t think what you feed in the last week will make a difference. I’m sure others will have a different experience but my best 500 mile results have come from building up over several weeks with just a few races.

Thanks Steve, must be difficult in the build-up to the race & possible hold over. Also the distance across water, definitely a tuff race.
