A lot of clubs put a mark up on them, $1.00 each is common. It is another way of fleecing the members.
How much are you blokes paying for rings in Britain?
Yes most clubs do add a mark up. The NFC double the cost. It's a nice earner for the club. But the biggest winners are the Unions themselves, their mark up on what they buy them from is huge, more so if you are an individual member.
Clubs get a 5% discount for ordering early. The cheapest a club can get a ring for is around 21p. And after a mark by most to 40p.

Is it wrong? No it's a way of raising funds. A better way would be to charge £1 each for them and then fanciers would think twice about ringing everything. After all when they buy Gold/Nom rings for £5/£10 ect they don't look at the dropper and think maybe I'll ring a couple off them

And yet people think nothing of paying £1.50 each for ETS rings?
