Tip foe new started
Don't except give baby's of club members,
Do your home work buy of a champ n listen to him only
Be up mega early if you snooze u lose
Put 💯 effort in and expect 💯 back from your birds ,
Have pigeons slightly under fed than over fed ,weight stops trains ,
Work with the weather never against it ,
Tweak the loft until it's working for you and birds
Use medication if needed but don't abuse it .

Ant can I ask why you said 'Don't accept gift birds from club members'? In my first ever race I myself was 3rd club with a gifted club members bird. It was also the first bird I clocked from 500 miles. I've also gifted a few new starters birds and some have won as young birds.
