North road team I got 15 from 17. South road dropped 15 from 40 - most got hammered, but a couple missed the clash and got virtually all of their birds back
It was my second race this weekend. Surprisingly I won 1st, 3rd and 4th in the first race, but was some way behind this weekend.
The experienced fanciers said the birds were held up too long and clashed with 5 other races. I’m gutted to be honest as I’ve lost 60% since starting training and, being my first year, was hoping these birds would be my foundation race team for the next few years. People warned me, but I’ve found it really is nothing like it used to be in the 70’s when last I raced.
I have very good quality birds (some supplied by respected members on here) and I’ve managed them sensibly. More surprising than anything is that only two fanciers have bothered to report lost birds to me.

6 missing for me from 17. But was surprised to get 4 back next morning (didnt think that happened anymore) - 3 of which were from the same family.
Notably, my first 2 birds last week are two of those missing?

There’s a hell of a lot of good fanciers losing good birds down here. So much so that they re-ran the previous race last week.
One chap lost 20 out of 23. Personally I dropped 3 out of 41 - and won 1st club 1st fed as it happens - but this year for me was always about building a team and my plans in that respect have taken a bit of a bashing it has to be said.
I’ve not done darkness so I’ll probably stop them soon anyway now that they’ve had some experience.
